a gap year initiative based on ephesians 4

what you want to know

The E 4 Life gap year initiative is a 10 month program that is separated into two semesters. During this time all the students will love together in a dorm style living area which will encourage a biblical and encouraging community where we will all learn to overcome the inevitable conflict of living with 24 other young adults in a biblical way.

The first semester starts on August 4th in Colorado Springs, CO and ends on December 10th. This semester will focused on building a solid foundation for evangelism while taking active steps in sharing our faith and pouring into biblical community. We will spend much of our time at the partner church, Rocky Mountain Calvary and the student base. The typical schedule was explained to me as study and teachings during the morning and outreach, community and personal time in the afternoons and evenings. This proposed schedule also includes outdoor excursions where our leaders are wanting us all to take time in nature to learn more about ourselves, each other and most importantly God.

The second semester starts on January 21st and ends June 16th. This time is going to be spent in a number of different places. The majority of our time will be spend in Peru from Jan 21 to Apr 25. While in Peru we will be hosted on the Calvary Chapel Bible College in Cajamarca. During this time we will travel the country for a little bit and spend much of the time in deep study and learning more about the word. The idea with outreach in Peru that had been mentioned was that we will spend two weeks leaning and doing study and outreach in the town of Cajamarca and then do one week outreach, on and off for duration of the four months in Peru. We then will spend one month in a mission excursion which will be in one of four destinations; Jordan, Uganda, Costa Rica or Mexica. This excursions will be focused on practical mission and hands on evangelism. I am super excited for these international opportunities. The last part of the semester will be spent back in Colorado unpacking what has taken place over the past year and looking at what ‘going forward’ looks like.

This year is going to be so exciting and filled with so much growth. If you have any questions or have any questions about the program please reach out and contact me @ ldwpaton@gmail.com
